Zero Waste!

Yesterday Sarah Langi came and spoke to the Kowhai Syndicate about the Zero waste challenge.  She showed us lots of different examples of lunch boxes.  Some of the lunchboxes had lots of waste in them because their food was wrapped in gladwrap and they had lots of packet food.  She also showed us a fantastic lunchbox which had no waste!  At Nelson Central School lots of us have been trying really hard to not use gladwrap. The next step is to make your lunchbox zero waste though?  Could you use containers or buy a special lunchbox so you don't even have to use ziplock bags or lunch wrap?

  1. I really loved the how excited the children of room 12 were at being able to invite mum or dad along to the lunch box talk. You took great care with your colourful invitations - well done !
