Today we sadly farewelled Robin. He is moving back to Germany with his family. We had a little party for him at the end of the day. Robin's Mum made muffins in ice-cream cones which we thought was very cool as none of us had had it before. We wish you all the best for settling back to life in Germany Robin.
Maitai Dam
Today we visited the Maitai dam as part of our inquiry unit on water. We walked up to the top of the dam and looked at where all the water is stored. Nelson hasn't had much rain lately so unfortuantly there was no water going down the steep spillway. After that we went down into the tunnel below the dam and saw some of the big pipes that the water moves through. Click on buttons below to listen to some of our thoughts from our visit.
Autumn!
This week we have had lots of fun related to Autumn. We have learnt a poem about autumn, had a leaf fight and made leaf rubbings using crayon. Watch our movie to hear our poem and watch us having a leaf fight!
Natural or man-made?
This week we started our new topic on water called Splash! We have had some interesting conversations deciding whether objects are natural or have been man-made. Today we thought that human's original teeth are natural but false teeth are man-made! Today in ICT we created Kidspiration diagrams classifying objects as natural or man-made. You can look at them below.
Tuataras
This week we made posters to communicate and celebrate all the things that we have learnt about Tuatara's. Check out the photos below to find out all the interesting things that we have found out. Do you know why Tuatara's puff up their spikes? You'll find the answer below.
* You can click on the photos below to see them larger.

This term for inquiry we have been learning about our busy bodies and all the interesting, weird and wonderful things that they do. We made a voice thread to present all the things that we learnt. With Sally's help we selected the pictures using Microsoft Clip Art to make our Voice Thread.
